My Take:
Selling doesn't need to feel
forceful or pushy.
Once you understand your natural communication style, hone in on your ideal client, and embrace your unique selling proposition, offering your services can be seamless with the right consultation structure in place.
The brief training I received in my twenties as a salesperson and matchmaker at a dating service prepared me to quickly uncover the root of why business owners and salespeople struggle to close new business. The similarities surprised me.
There’s a vulnerability in being single, having so much to offer a future partner, and needing to reach out to a matchmaker in order to have quality introductions that lead to relationship satisfaction, that mirrors the experience of a business owner wondering why they don't have higher revenue if their service is something that changes their clients lives.
In 2021, while juggling multiple private sales training clients, and after a successful run of sales and sales management with five large companies, I decided to get back to my roots and what I truly loved, and pivot to helping people achieve their true potentials and push businesses to thrive.
In the last 4 years, 100% of my clients have experienced growth after working with me for 90 days or less, and 80% of that group have doubled their revenue after receiving my training and direction.
But there’s a catch. This is extremely hard work. And my method isn’t for everyone.
Who isn’t a fit for my services? Owners or salespeople who are uncomfortable with deep diving, rigorous practice, and unaltered feedback. Those who lack the ability to understand their internal systems and processes will not benefit from hiring a sales trainer like me.
And growth? It takes uncomfortable action. Most of this happens live, so those unavailable to meet multiple times a week will not maximize their partnership with me.
This one scares people, but I prefer transparency with my clients. I encourage all my clients to check their ego at the door (I will do it too!) and be willing to accept advice. What you're doing works for you? Great. Let's keep that. Want to grow but feel stuck? It's likely time to uncover your biases or limitations in your methods.
Traditional sales trainers focus too much on knowing your "why", but that isn't enough. A clear "what" is necessary for growth.
Don’t wonder if you have the courage to make a big change in the way your business is heading. Don’t sit and think about what you'll do to increase revenues. Planning means nothing unless direct and specific action is taken. Take the first step. I promise to meet you where you are.
